Del Zotto Dropping in Calder Race

John Grigg at The Hockey News looks at the Top 10 Calder Trophy candidates...

9. Michael Del Zotto, D, NY Rangers
The 19-year-old has been quarterbacking the league’s 12th-ranked power play since Day 1 of the season. Del Zotto’s five goals and 17 points have him fourth in Rangers scoring this season even though, along with the rest of the Blueshirts not named Marian Gaborik, he’s cooled off somewhat.

...Del Zotto was at the very top of every Calder list earlier this season, but hey the kid is only 19, you couldn't expect him to keep that pace up all season.

...this is where not having a veteran seventh defenseman is hurting the Rangers. Maybe Del Zotto needs a few days to rest to get recharged. But without a ligitimate d-man to plug in, the Rangers can't do that.

Hockey's Future has their own Calder poll with Del Zotto at #3.
