Brendan Witt Anyone?

Katie Strang at Newsday reports that the Islanders have placed Brendan Witt on waivers today.

Witt, who has one year remaining at $3 million per, has two goals and three assists in 42 games this year.

Witt, who has recently battled through a nagging knee injury, has not played since January 8 against Dallas.

...at first I thought the Rangers should take a flyer on him, but after seeing he has another year on his contract that amazingly pays him $3 million per I would strongly suggest the Rangers take a pass.

...he would, however, be huge upgrade in the toughness department on the blue line.
