Rangers Expected to Make Offer for Whitney

Bruce Garrioch at the Ottawa Sun expects the Rangers to be one of the many teams to make an offer for Carolina winger Ray Whitney at the trade deadline.

Other teams interested include Penguins, Flyers, Senators, Flames and Canucks.

Whitney, who is in the final year of his contract that pays him $3.55 million this season, has 16g and 27a on the season.

...no thanks. Hate to see the Rangers trade away a prospect for a 37-year-old rental that at best will only get them into the second round.

...time to start getting fired up about the Super Bowl (ie the drinking, eating, gambling and shenanigans), so i don't expect to post anything else today. Enjoy the big game and I'll be right back at it tomorrow morning.
