Former Ranger Coach Low Mugged, Hospitalized

Slam Sports reports that former Ranger Coach Ron Low is still recovering in a hospital after a St. Patrick's Day mugging in Calgary.

After leaving a meeting with fellow former Oilers player Dave Hunter, Low was the victim of a blindside attack at about 9 p.m. on March 17.

Low, 59, managed to make it to his hotel and was able to call an ambulance.

Low is a salesman for Smith Tools in Edmonton after stints as head coach of the Oilers (1995-99) and New York Rangers (2000-02). Low was 69-86-9 as Rangers head coach failing to make the playoffs both years.

...while I'm sure plenty of Ranger fans threatened physical violence towards Low during his tenure with the Rangers, I think I speak for all of us in wishing Low a full and speedy recovery.
