Gaborik to Heal Quickly; Lisin Waived But Still Playing Tonight (Updated)

Update, 2:43 p.m.:
Larry Brooks at his blog Slap Shots says that Gaborik injured himself during the Olympics by compensating for the leg laceration...

"Gaborik is believed to have suffered a groin pull during the tournament after adapting his skating style in order to be able to cope with the deep thigh wound he sustained in a Feb. 9 practice mishap involving Henrik Lundqvist."

...sadly I predicted this.

...which is why the Rangers should have pushed harder to have Gaborik miss the Olympics. I know he wanted to represent his country but he's being paid millions of dollars by the Rangers and his first responsibility should be to them.

Original Post:
Steve Zipay at Blue Notes has this quote from Marian Gaborik on his injury...

"I cannot really go out there," he said. "It's frustrating but I just have to stay positive. I believe it's going to feel better quickly."

...by quickly I hope he means Thursday vs. the Penguins

Zipay also reports that despite being waived today, Enver Lisin is eligible to play tonight and will be in the line-up as the 12th forward.

...i don't profess to be a transaction geek, so if anyone can explain this let me know.

Michael Obernauer at the Blueshirts Blog has tonight's line-up...

Prospal-Christensen-Callahan
Drury-Jokinen-Dubinsky
Avery-Anisimov-Lisin
Prust-Boyle-Shelley

It would be great if you could post the updated details on Lisin's status. Many of us can't read Zipay anymore since Newsday (read The Dolans) decided to put up a pay wall...
