Get Redden Out

Lyle Richardson at The Hockey News talks about the different avenues the Rangers can get rid of Wade Redden's horrendous contract...

"The Rangers can certainly afford to bury Redden’s salary in the minors, but that doesn’t mean they’re keen to consider the possibility.

A buyout is another possibility, but it wouldn’t be cheap. As per capgeek.com, Redden’s actual salary is $6.5 million for each of the next two seasons and $5 million per season for the final two years. That translates into a buyout cap hit of just more than $1.9 million per season in the first two years, more than $3.4 million over the next two and back to $1.9 million for four more seasons after that."

...i didn't think it was possible, but Redden has actually gotten worse recently. Only four years left Ranger fans.

depressing...in all honesty, as much of an idiot sather was for signing redden to this deal...if i was redden before i signed this deal i would have thought "hey, am i really worth 6.5 a year?"

not that i could turn down 6.5 a year, but hes made his money and should have known the garden faithful (if he knew anything about this city) love to jump on high priced under achievers...

sure its 99% sathers fault, but redden should have used a bit of common sense maybe, and instead of getting a big pay day with fans hating him, maybe should have gone with a cheaper contract and not have the fans hating him...as much
