Rangers 4, Senators 1

The New York Rangers (29-27-7) defeated the Ottawa Senators (36-24-4) by the score of 4-1, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

...the last three years the Rangers used a late season run to get to the playoffs. Hopefully tonight is the beginning of another one of those runs.

...i guess no Olympic hang-over for Callahan. He was awesome tonight. Wonder if he learned that move on his first goal from hanging around Parise and Kane during the Olympics.

...besides Callahan, it was very encouraging to see Dubinsky get one tonight. Those two, especially if Gaborik is out for an extended period, are going to be counted on to not only supply scoring, but leadership.

...happy to see Lundqvist left all his bad demons in Vancouver.

...Lisin played like a player on waivers trying to showcase himself. Too bad he couldn't play like that all year.

...did Drury not come back from Vancouver? I kid our captain.

...loving Avery getting in on the offense tonight. Another player who needs to step it up down the stretch. He's needed more on the agitating end, but scoring is always nice.

...3-0 without Gaborik. Maybe the Rangers should think about moving him tomorrow. Relax it's a joke.

...Canada's golden boy Sidney Crosby and the Pens, who picked up forward Alexei Ponikarovsky from Toronto tonight, invade MSG on Thursday.

honestly bummed on the lisin situation.i saw his potential, thought he should getmore ice time, he still young. i think the team relys on gaborik too much, glad to see them get the W without him, hopefully itll boost their confidence and not always try and rely on him!

Matt, nice call on Christensen. He's been money the last few games.

Rangers looked pretty damn good tonight without Gabby and Del Zotto. Although I think Del Zotto needed some time out of the lineup as he had been struggling pretty mightily for a while leading up to the Olympics (-18 on the year). Albeit I'd rather him not be injured of course. Callahan is night in and night out the best player on the team in terms of effort, the guy is always hustling and I love to see him get rewarded with some goals and I actually posted the same exact thing about Callahan learning that move from Patrick Kane on my blog: teeingoffonhockey.blogspot.com. I third the Christensen comment, he has been looking good, I'd love to see it last.
