Lindros Doesn't Get Hall Call

TSN reports that Dino Ciccarelli along with female players Angela James and Cammi Granato were among those elected to the Hall of Fame on Tuesday.

Not selected were Eric Lindros and Joe Nieuwendyk. Both were in their first year of eligibility and seen as possible top candidates.

Also a lot of anger out there that Pat Burns was not selected.

...if Ciccarelli got in there is no reason Lindros should have been left out.

...by the way how busy of an NHL news day was today? Signings, trades, coaching changes, HOF picks, schedule release and draft previews. I can't wait for the draft party so I can just relax with a drink and enjoy.

see i dont know about lindros. Not enough truly great years to warrant the HOF imo. Dino definitely has the inflated goal numbers that come from playing in the 80's to early 90's so im not sure about him either.

Chris, while he didn't have a full career due to injuries, when he was healthy he dominated.

Joe Nieuwendyk was the most deserving and I would have liked to have seen Richter and bure as well ut I don't have a huge problem with Dino getting in.

Lindros is going to get in most likely next year, he deserves to be in imo, the guy was unstoppable for a time. I mean injuries aside he was the most dominant player in the game for a good 5 years & would have been a surefire 1st. ballot guy if not for the concussions.

I agree with LTP, I think Lindros gets in but due to a shortened career and no cup (I know Dino didn't win either, but he played a full career) Lindros should wait a year or two. I personally am looking forward to not hearing about how "Should Dino be in" every year.

there is no reason lindros should have went in. he was an overrated player who should have never worn a ranger jersey. there i said it. go dino!

"injuries aside"

unfortunately injuries count too. so not bothered by him missing out. but only 1 guy? bure and others should have made it including our very own # 35 for the rangers and team usa

Injuries similar to Lindros might be what ultimately keeps Richter out of the Hall.
