Staal Situation Similar to Park's

Gerald Eskenazi at the New York Times "Slap Shot" blog looks back at Brad Park's contract dispute with the Rangers in 1970...

"As the summer of 1970 came to a close, and the season loomed, Emile offered about $20,000 to Park. Park wanted $45,000. According to Park’s agent, Emile told him, “I’m offering a 50 percent raise!” to which the agent replied, “Fifty percent of nothing is still nothing.”

Well, guess what. The night before the season opened, Park went to Francis’ home in Long Beach, L.I., and signed a contract for about $30,000."

...see Ranger fans it usually all works out in the end. One way or another Staal will be signed before the season starts. Even if he has to drive to Sather's house.

LI Joe you know what you always post such bs where in the hell do you get off saying the Marc "I never take the body just like to play the puck" Staal is worth 4.5 mill. the guy is 1 of idf not the most overrated players in the league, your just another 1 in the long line of fans who are drunk on Sam & Joe koolaid, man grow a set & admit that Marc Staal would be better suited for ice capades than ice hockey. I see you always complaining about contracts & yet u want to give this stiff 4.5 mill. per please you lost any credibility you had. The guy put up 27 points last season, looks completely out of place carrying the puck, never takes the body & never clears the crease. I for 1 hope they trade him to be honest with you & I cant wait for all you guys to McDonaugh he's going to embarrass Staal with his superior play, Marc Staal is expendable.

to me...giving up someone with the last name of staal (look at his brothers) is a silly idea...they clearly have hockey blood in the family...lets not forget staal is still young for a dman...give him some time please

ltp -this coming from a "person" who suggests he sign a 30 k contract. staal is worth 4.5 mm. i hope signs for much less like 3.5 to help with the cap. his position is called defense. he is our best defenseman by far.

i think about your posts the way you do mine. except in addition to not knowing what you're talking about, you have no clue and are just looking to stir up trouble.
