Rangers 5, Blue Jackets 4 (Traverse Tourney Game 1)

The New York Rangers prospects (1-0) defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets prospects (0-1) by the score of 5-4. For a recap go to newyorkrangers.com.

Evgeni Grachev scored the game winner (his second of the game) with 6.1 seconds remaining in the third period. Derek Stepan had a goal and three assists, while Ryan Bourque had a goal and an assist.

Ryan McDonagh, who wore the Captain's "C" tonight, had an assist.

...tonight couldn't have gone better for Ranger fans as the prospects we're all hoping can make a splash during training camp and possibly sneak on the team all had outstanding games.

Here's Gordie Clarke, the Rangers' Director, Player Personnel, on the Grachev-Stepan-Bourque line that finished the night with 4g and 4a...

"They looked like they were a pretty good fit," said Clark. "Stepan controls the puck in the middle of the ice, and Grachev is a guy whose time to touch the puck is when he's ready to shoot it. And that's what Stepan can do for him and Bourque, who jells so well with the other two because he's quick and he can get to the loose pucks."

...is this the line that will make the Rangers a perennial winner for years to come? Let's hope so.
