Injuries Increase Rangers Interest in Richards; Looking to Move Gilroy

Bruce Garrioch at the Ottawa Sun says the recent injuries make the Rangers even more likely to go after Dallas Stars forward Brad Richards...

"The Rangers don’t have much cap space, but they’ll be keeping a close eye on Dallas’ Richards. If the Stars decide to put the 30-year-old on the block in a bid to get younger, there would be genuine interest in New York. The Rangers have lost C Chris Drury (broken finger) for six weeks, W Marian Gaborik (shoulder) for 2-3 weeks, and C Vaclav Prospal (pending knee surgery) indefinitely. New York is also looking to move D Matt Gilroy."

Richards, who is in the last year of his contract that pays him $7.8 million, has 2g, 7a in four games this season.

...i would like to see how the current Rangers respond before they look to get Richards, but it may be a move that is ultimately necessary.

...i know Gilroy hasn't lived up to his potential yet, but I don't feel the Rangers have been handling him right. All accounts had him coming to camp confident and ready to go. Now, just a few weeks later, as I posted yesterday, they guy is already down on himself after he was surprisingly benched the first two games of the season. I wouldn't be shocked if he's traded.

Dude, its the Ottawa Sun. Garrioch hasn't posted anything in the past three years anyone should care about.he's a rumor mill, with no information to back it up. He is easily the worst sports writer around.

Dallas isn't even discussing trades involving with this guy. Where the hell did this come from? Maybe we should look at Crosby too?
