Redden's $ Comes Back on Offseason Cap

In Larry Brooks article this morning in the NY Post he mentions this about Wade Redden's salary...

"Remember, Wade Redden's $6.5 million comes back onto the cap for the offseason. The Blueshirts currently have $52.49 million committed to 12 players (plus Redden) next summer, not counting likely meaningful increases off qualifiers for restricted free agents Ryan Callahan, Brandon Dubinsky and Artem Anisimov."

The summer cap allows teams to go 10% above the current salary cap.

...thought this was very interesting and something I didn't realize. This could be a potential problem for the Rangers next season as they try to add parts or resign Frolov.
